Retroperitoneal Hematoma in Pregnancy and Puerperium

Abstract

|
Retroperitoneal hematoma due to spontaneous rupture of utero-ovarian vein in pregnancy or puerperium is seldom seen. in obstetrics. The incidence reported by John W.Luce is one in deliveries. Since the disease accompanies a high matrnal mortality unless treated adequately, obstetrician should be alert to its possible occurance. Recently we have operated 3 cases with uneventful recovery. Among these 3cases two developed retropsritoneal hamatoma in puerperium and. one complicated with ruptured tubal pregnancy
Active bleeding points were not found in all cases.
